Tidal Bore Rafting Resort

Hosting guided tidal‑bore rafting tours infused with traditional Mi’kmaw teachings, smudging ceremonies, and workshops in medicinal craft making.

Tidal Bore Rafting Resort, a Sipekne’katik band-owned enterprise in Nova Scotia, offers an unforgettable blend of cultural immersion and high-adrenaline adventure. Located along the Shubenacadie River’s famous tidal bore, the resort partners with Mi’kmaw Knowledge Holders to deliver the Mi’kmaq Tides Adventure Package—an experience rooted in Mi’kmaw values of land and water stewardship.

Guests take part in smudging ceremonies, storytelling, language sharing, and hands-on workshops like medallion and medicine box making. These experiences deepen understanding of Mi’kmaw culture while reflecting Indigenous Knowledge and relationships to the tides.

Alongside its cultural and adventure programming, the Tidal Bore Rafting Resort features cozy riverside accommodations including chalets and cottages, perfect for couples, families, or groups. Whether you’re rafting the powerful tides or sitting by a campfire listening to Mi’kmaw stories, every visit offers an authentic connection to land, culture, and community.

“We share our stories as we ride the tidal bore—connecting visitors to our water, land, language, and traditions.” Rochelle Roberts, General Manager, Tidal Bore Rafting Resort
