We'koqma'q (Waycobah)

We’koqma’q First Nation is nestled in the foothills of the Whycocomagh and Skye Mountains, overlooking the graceful waters of Whycocomagh Bay, in Unama’ki (Cape Breton Island).  Adjacent to the village of Whycocomagh, We’koqma’q is approximately 58 kilometers from the Canso Causeway. The name “We’koqma’q” means “head of the waters” and the community is dedicated to preserving the Mi’kmaw language and culture.
