Potlotek First Nation (Chapel Island) is named for an island 300 yards off the community that takes its name. Potlotek is situated in Richmond County, Nova Scotia and its most neighboring community is St. Peter’s.
The community holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for the Mi’kmaq, as the island is the home of the Mi’kmaq Grand Council, the traditional government that has perhaps existed well before European contact.
Potlotek welcomes you to connect with its Makers and Hosts, keepers of ceremony and tradition.
