Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation is located near Antigonish, Nova Scotia. “Paqtnkek” means “by the bay” and reflects the connection the community maintains to the local bay and its resources.  The people of Paqtnkek prides themselves on their exercise of Treaty and Aboriginal Rights, as they maintain connections to the traditional ways of their ancestors.
